Waste Bottles Transform Into Sustainable Heavy-Duty Bulk Bags
Gravis claims its new 100% recycled flexible intermediate bulk container can slash carbon footprint up to 70% while meeting industrial strength requirements.
Gravis, provider of custom bulk transportation packaging solutions, has launched a bulk bag made entirely from recycled PET (rPET) plastic that reduces carbon emissions by 70% compared to traditional virgin polypropylene bags.
The Sustainabulk flexible intermediate bulk container (FIBC) bulk bag helps companies align with European Union regulations requiring 100% recyclable packaging by 2030. Each shipment of 48 pallets reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 26 metric tons compared to traditional bags.
Made from recycled materials including plastic bottles and bulk bags, the Sustainabulk bags are fully recyclable after use, supporting circular economy initiatives.
The rPET construction provides tensile strength for heavy-duty applications while offering UV and abrasion resistance for outdoor use and demanding environments. «Our Sustainabulk bags support a circular economy,» said Vishal Rao, CEO of Gravis. «Once the bags have served their purpose, they can be repurposed into new products, reducing the need for raw materials.»
